Microsoft’un Başkanı Bill Gates, Türkiye ziyaretinde Türk Telekom ve Intel ile ortaklaşa yürütülecek bilgisayar projesini tanıtacak. Proje, bilgisayarda ebeveyn kontrol sistemi ve taksitli alımı da kapsıyor
Microsoft’un kurucusu ve Başkanı Bill Gates, Türkiye ziyaretinde, Türk Telekom, Intel ve Microsoft’un birlikte yer aldığı bilgisayar (PC) projesinin duyurusunu yapması bekleniyor. Gates’in açıklayacağı projenin çıkış noktası ise kapsamlı bir araştırmaya dayanıyor.
Microsoft Türkiye Genel Müdürü Çağlayan Arkan, ‘Türkiye’de bilgisayar kullanımı’ konulu araştırmanın, Gates’in açıklayacağı projeyi ortaya çıkardığını söyledi.
‘Türkiye’de bilgisayar kullanım seviyesi neden yükselmiyor?’ sorusunun da cevaplandığı araştırmada, bilgisayar sahibi olunmamasının altında 3 ana sebep yattığı sonucu ortaya çıkmış. Bunlar, ekonomik koşullar, güvenlik (ailelerin, çocuklarının porno ve satanist sitelere girme korkusu) ve teknik destek.
İzin tabanlı
Uzun vadeli ve taksitli bilgisayar alınması, ailelerin bilgisayarları filtreleyerek kendilerinin izin vermediği sitelere girişi engelleyebilmesi ve teknik destek paketini içeren proje, Gates’in açıklaması ile devreye girecek. Projede ayrıca, internet bağlantısı da paket olarak sunuluyor.
Çocukların bilgisayar kullanırken, ebeveynlerin akıllarındaki soru işaretlerini ortadan kaldırmak için uygulanan bir yöntem olan ebeveyn kontrol (parental control) sistemi projede, işletim sisteminin içinde bulunuyor.
Ebeveyn kontrol özelliği iki faklı yöntemde uygulanmakta. Bunlar adres tabanlı filtreleme ve içerik tabanlı filtreleme. Adres tabanlı da zararlı kelimeleri içeren tüm web adreslerine giriş engellenebiliyor. İçerik tabanlı kontrolde ise, internet sayfalarında (içerik) bulunan kelimeler kapsamlı bir şekilde taranarak siteye giriş otomatik olarak engelleniyor. Böylelikle, ebeveynler basit yolla ‘porno’, ’satan’ (şeytan) gibi zararlı kelimeleri, bilgisayara girerek filtreleme yapabiliyor.
Sınırlandırılmış XP
Gates’in duyurusunu yapacağı Windows Starter Edition işletim sistemi, sınırlandırılmış bir sistem. Türkçe dil desteği, internet bağlantısı, müzik çalar gibi özelliklerin yer aldığı sistemde, aynı anda en fazla 3 program çalışıp, her program için ancak 3 pencere açılabiliyor. Ekran çözünürlüğü 800×600 olan versiyon, ev ağları ve çok kullanıcılı PC özelliğini desteklemiyor. Microsoft bu yolla, ortalama 100 dolar olan işletim sistemini 25 dolara indirebiliyor.
Gates: Türkiye’de ciddi potansiyel var

Dünyanın en zengin işadamı Bill Gates, dün Dolmabahçe Sarayı’nda onuruna verilen akşam yemeğinde Başbakan Recep Tayyip Erdoğan ve iş dünyası temsilcileri ile biraraya geldi.
Gates, yaptığı konuşmada “Türkiye’ye 3′ncü kez geliyorum ve burada bulunmaktan mutluluk duyuyorum. İş dünyasının önde gelen isimleriyle neler yapabileceğimizi konuşacağız. Türkiye’nin bu alanda ciddi potansiyeli var. Yazılım ve internetin insan hayatına eğitim açısından getirdiği çok önemli avantajlar söz konusu” diye konuştu. Gates, şirket olarak ar-ge’ye yıllık 6 milyar dolar kaynak ayırdıklarını da dile getirdi.
Başbakan Erdoğan da konuşmasında Türkiye’nin dünyanın 17. büyük ekonomisi olduğunu ve son 3 yılda ortalama yüzde 7.5 büyüdüğünü belirterek, “Bu seviyeye istikrar ortamının sonunda geldik” dedi. Erdoğan, Türkiye’nin bilgi teknolojileri pazarındaki payının GSMH’ye oranının binde 7 olduğunu, bu durumun olumsuz görülmekle birlikte bir pazar patlamasının yaşanacağının göstergesi olduğunu kaydetti.

Infonet Genel Müdürü Taner Özdeş, ADSL kullanıcılarını bekleyen en önemli tehlikenin, genişbantta daha hızlı hareket edebilen virüs ve solucanlar olduğunu bildirdi.
Özdeş, hızla düşen internet erişim ücretleri ve genişbant servis hizmetlerinin yaygınlaşmasının, interneti diğer iletişim araçlarının önüne taşıdığını belirten Özdeş, 1.5 milyon kişiye yaklaşan ADSL abonelerini de bir çok tehlikenin beklediğini ifade etti.
Söz konusu tehlikelerin başında, virüs ve solucanların bulunduğunu anlatan Özdeş, e-posta yoluyla veya internet üzerinden indirilebilecek bu zararlı programların, bilgisayarı çalışamaz hale getirerek önemli bilgilerin kaybolmasına yol açabileceğini söyledi.
Casus yazılımlara dikkat
İnternet üzerinden gelebilecek diğer önemli bir tehlikenin ise casus yazılım (spyware) ve trojanlar olduğunu belirten Özdeş, bu ajan programların bilgisayarda bulundurulan her türlü parola, kredi kartı bilgileri gibi değerli kişisel bilgileri çalabildiğine dikkati çekti. Özdeş, trojanların ise bilgisayarın uzaktan ele geçirilmesine ve başka kişilerin amaçları doğrultusunda kullanılabilmesine imkan sağlayabilecek ”arka kapılar” olduğunu kaydetti.
Özdeş, son yıllarda bir genişbant kullanıcısını bekleyen bir başka tehlikenin ise ”Olta saldırısı” (phishing) adı verilen bir yöntem olduğunu anlattı. Özdeş, bu yöntemle kullanıcının kandırılarak, önemli bilgilerinin çalınmasının hedeflendiğini belirtti.
Olta saldırılarında en çok kullanılan yöntemin ”e-posta yolu ile kullanıcıların yanlış sitelere yönlendirilmesi” olduğuna işaret eden Özdeş, özellikle internet bankacılığı kullanımının yaygınlaşmasının, olta saldırılarının bu alanda yoğunlaşmasına neden olduğunu söyledi.
“Geleneksel antivirüs programları yetersiz”
Infonet Bilgi Teknolojileri Bilgi Güvenliği Danışmanı Murat Kültür ise eskiden beri kullanılan ve sadece virüslere karşı önlem alabilen geleneksel antivirüs programlarının bugün yetersiz kaldığını bildirdi.
Saldırı tiplerine göre çok amaçlı güvenlik yazılımlarının kullanılmasının önemine işaret eden Kültür, genişbant kullanıcılarına; ”düzenli olarak güncellenen bir virüs, solucan, spyware ve trojan veri tabanına sahip olan, zararlı programları tespit edebildiği gibi, temizleme işlemini yapıp sistemi ilk haline getirebilen, Web üzerinde zararlı kod içeren sitelere erişimi engelleyen, olta saldırılarının yapıldığı sitelerin güncel bilgisini bulundurup bu sitelere erişimi engelleyen, etkin ve kolay kullanılabilir güvenlik duvarı (firewall) ve atak tespit sistemi (IDS) özelliklerini bulunduran yazılımlar” önerdiklerini belirtti.
Kültür, ayrıca bu güvenlik yazılımlarının, Web üzerinden ve diğer yöntemler ile kullanılan e-posta alışverişleri sırasında e-postaları tarayabilen, zararlı programların bilgisayara bulaşmasını kolaylaştıran güvenlik açıklarını tespit edebilen ve kullanıcının belirlediği özel bilgilerin hareketini tüm sistemde izleyip bu durumu bildirebilen yapıda olması gerektiğini vurguladı.
Söz konusu özellikleri sağlayan yazılımları kullanan genişbant kullanıcılarının, bahsedilen tehlikelerden büyük ölçüde korunmuş olacaklarına dikkati çeken Kültür, internet evrimini sürdürdükçe, tehlikelerin de değişip çeşitlilik göstermeye devam edeceğini, değişen ve gelişen tehlikelerden haberdar olup gerekli önlemleri almanın, güvenli bir internet kullanımı için vazgeçilmez hale geldiğini sözlerine ekledi.
